Happy 2019 everyone!!

I've been very busy with my work as an Operations Manager for ETIV do Brazil and although I've been shooting pretty much every single day, I haven't yet had the time to actually edit the pictures and make a gallery for them here on my website, let alone post on the blog more consistently.

Things are slowly getting on track, however, so I'm hoping that from now on I'll be able to share something here at least twice a month, both in English and Portuguese.

I hope you all have had a beautiful New Years Eve, and I wish you all a wonderful year ahead, filled with love, generosity, empathy and gratitude!

I'm kicking off my posts this year with a list of 10 videos I think you MUST watch on Vimeo right now.

Browsing their staff picks and watching some of them is one of my favorite things to do before going to bed. There is so much inspiration out there! So here is my list with my 10 of my favorites right now, in no specific order.

I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did.

1. Tungrus

In a cramped apartment in Mumbai, a family considers eating their hell-raising pet rooster, so that they can reclaim their lives.

2. Fauve

Set in a surface mine, two boys sink into a seemingly innocent power game with Mother Nature as the sole observer.

3. seoul_wave

I spent a month in Seoul and saw a city racing to the future. Here's the film I made with the help of the great people I met along the way.

Where there's people there's joy. Where's more people there's more joy. A short piece of docu-fiction about happiness, nations & massive football crowds. Covertly filmed amid the very real crowds of the European Football Championships 2016.

5. Love Is Blind

When Alice’s husband arrives home to try and make amends it leaves her navigating a tricky situation.

6. RJ Ripper

Kids and bikes; wherever you are in the world, they go together. The chaotic streets of Kathmandu may not seem like a typical breeding ground for world-class mountain bikers, but then again nothing is typical about Rajesh (RJ) Magar. Since learning to ride on a beat-up clunker, to becoming the four-time National Champion at age 21, RJ’s story is one of boundless childhood dreaming and unstoppable determination, forged from junkyard scraps and tested on the rugged trails of the mighty Himalaya.

7. Happiness

The story of a rodent's unrelenting quest for happiness and fulfillment.

8. Coin Operated

Written & Directed by Nicholas Arioli Coin Operated is an award winning 5 minute short animation that spans 70 years in the life of one naive explorer.

9. Sweet Things

A completely normal job interview?

10. Curve

Clinging to a smooth, curved surface high above a sentient abyss, a girl tries to cover the few feet back to safety without losing purchase and falling to her death.

I hope you've enjoyed them, and see you back here soon!

With all the best wishes for 2019,

Bernardo Salce
